Green Tara are importers and wholesalers of the finest handmade and milled mulberry papers and associated products. We are now well known for our paper flowers and other embellishments and we are constantly adding to our range with carefully sourced products.

Paper Crafts are all about the paper and Green Tara can provide papers with rich colours, wonderful textures and beautiful patterns. We sell our paper in sheets, scrapbook 12" x 12" sheets, A4 and in co-ordinated craft packs. 

Our growing business has given work to many villagers in the area where the paper is made. Mulberry paper (or saa paper as it is called in Thailand) is made from the bark of the mulberry tree, which peels from the trunk of the tree at the end of each rainy season. So you are also buying an ecologically friendly product, as no trees are cut down to  make the paper! The bark is pulped and spread onto large racks to dry (as in the above picture). It is then used to make numerous products, including the Green Tara petals and flowers which are all hand made.

All our Mulberry paper items are bleached without the use of chlorine, are acid and lignin free and dyed with non-toxic, natural dyes wherever possible.

You may have wondered about the name Green Tara. Green Tara is a popular female Buddhist deity of the Mahayana Buddhist tradition. She is compassionate, wise and a nurturing mother figure. Since Buddhism is the primary religion in the region where my beautiful papers are made , I thought it an appropriate and (to me) inspiring name. Many women are employed in the making of my papers and flowers which are giving pleasure to many more women around the world..
